How to deal with the forged valves which cannot be closed tightly?

Under normal circumstances, if a forged valve is not closed tightly, first confirm whether the forged valve is closed in place. If it has been closed in place, there is still leakage and the forged valve cannot be sealed well, then check the sealing surface. Some forged valve seals are detachable, so take them out for grinding and testing again. If it is still not closed tightly, then it is necessary to return the forged valve to the factory for repair or replacement, so as not to affect the normal use of the forged valve or produce the problems such as working condition accident.

If the forged valve is not closed tightly, you should first find out where the problem occurs, and then solve the problem according to the corresponding method.

Usually, the forged valve is not closed tightly for the following several reasons:
(1) Impurities are stuck on the sealing surface, and sundries are deposited at the bottom of the forged valve or between the valve disc and the valve seat;
(2) The valve stem thread is rusted, so the forged valve cannot rotate;
(3) The sealing surface of the forged valve is damaged, resulting in leakage of the medium;
(4) The valve stem and the valve disc are not well connected, so that the valve disc and the valve seat deviate from each other and cannot be in close contact with each other.

The specific handing method as below:
1. There are impurities stuck on the forged valve sealing surface.
Sometimes, the forged valve is suddenly not closed tightly properly for there are impurities stuck between the sealing surfaces of the forged valve. On this occasion, we should not close the forged valve forcibly by force. Oppositely, we should open the forged valve slightly, and then try to close it. In general, doing the said method repeatedly can solve the problem. Otherwise, the forged valve should be check again. In addition, the quality and the purity of the media should also be kept.

2. The valve stem thread rusts
For forged valves that are normally in the open state, when the valve is accidentally closed, the valve may not be closed tightly due to that the stem threads have rusted. In this case, we can repeatedly open and close the forged valve, at the same time, knock the bottom of the forged valve body with a small hammer, so that the forged valve can be closed tightly, and the forged valve does not need to be ground and repaired.

3. The forged valve sealing surface is damaged
For the case that the switch is still not closed tightly after several attempts, that is, the sealing surface has been damaged, or the sealing surface has been damaged by corrosion or particle scratches in the medium, this situation should be reported for repair.

4. The valve stem and the valve disc are not connected well.
In this case, it is necessary to lubricate the valve stem and the stem nut to ensure that the forged valve switch is flexible. There must be a formal maintenance program to enhance the maintenance of the forged valve.
