A Brief Introduction of Forged Steel Check Valves

Relying on the medium itself, a forged steel check valve refers to a valve with an automatic opening and closing valve disc, which is mainly used to prevent the backflow of the medium, to prevent the pump and drive motor reversal, and the discharge of the container medium, suitable for urban construction, chemical industry, metallurgy, petroleum, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industry and environmental protection field. The forged check valve can also be used in the auxiliary system supply piping whose pressure could rise to more than the system pressure.

Characteristics:
1. The function of this type of forged check valve is to allow the medium to flow only in one direction and to prevent directional flow. Usually this valve is under automatic operation, allowing flow in one direction under the pressure of the fluid, valve disc open; when the fluid flows in the opposite direction, the pressure of the fluid and the self-overlapping disc act on the seat, thereby cutting off the flow.
2. The internal thread forged check valve includes forged swing check valve and forged lift check valve. Forged swing check valves have a hinge mechanism and a door - like disc that rests freely against the tilted seat surface. In order to ensure that the disc can reach the proper position of the seat surface every time, the disc is designed in the hinge mechanism, so that the disc has enough room for rotation and the disc is truly and fully in contact with the seat. Disc can be made entirely of metal, leather, rubber, or synthetic overlay, depending on performance.
3. When the forged swing check valve is fully open, the fluid pressure is almost unimpeded, so the pressure drop through the valve is relatively small. The disc of the forged elevating check valve is located on the seat sealing surface of the valve body. In addition to that the disc can rise and fall freely, for this forged globe valve, the pressure of the fluid makes the disc lift from the seat sealing surface, and the medium backflow causes the disc to fall back to the valve seat, and cut off the flow.
4. The disc may be of an all-metal construction or may be in the form of a rubber pad or ring mounted on the disc holder, depending on service conditions. Like forged globe valves, the flow through the forged lift check valve channel is narrow, so the pressure drop through the forged lift check valve is larger than that of the swing check valve, and the flow of the forged swing check valve is limited.

Structural Description
The forged steel valve in the process of use, media flow in the direction of the arrow shown.
1. When the medium flows in the specified direction, the disc is opened under the action of the medium force. Medium counter current: due to the weight of the disc and the effect of the reverse force of the medium against the disc, the disc and seat sealing surface are closed to prevent the medium counter current.
2. The sealing surface of valve body and disc adopts stainless steel surfacing welding.
The problem should pay attention to concerning forged steel check valves
When it comes to forged steel valves, fat injection problem is often ignored. After refueling the grease gun, the operator selects the valve and the grease injection connection mode at low temperature before the operation of grease injection. There are two kinds of situation of forged steel check valve: on the one hand, less fat injection or insufficient fat injection occurring, sealing surface wears acceleratedly because of the lack of lubricant. On the other hand, excessive fat injection leads to waste. There is no accurate calculation of the sealing capacity of different valves according to valve type and category. The sealing capacity can be calculated by valve size and valve type, and then the appropriate amount of grease can be injected reasonably.
